On the Table #30

Big plastic this week: a new Ogor rampage for Age of Sigmar, a fresh Kill Team box, and a full Core Set reboot for The Old World. Plus two things worth keeping an eye on.

Ogor Mawtribes Get Their Biggest Refresh Yet

Games Workshop just gave the Ogors a proper glow-up. A new Ogor Mawtribes Army Set for Age of Sigmar 4th Edition landed this week, bringing a new plastic Ogor Tyrant, Gluttons, Ironguts, and Maulbeast Cavalry to the range, alongside an updated Destruction Battletome with new characters, units, and Regiments of Renown. Warcry rules to support the new miniatures are also on the way, so this is shaping up to be a proper faction relaunch rather than a one-off box.

  • New plastic kits: Ogor Tyrant, Gluttons, Ironguts, Maulbeast Cavalry
  • Updated Destruction Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes
  • New characters, units, and Regiments of Renown
  • Companion Warcry rules confirmed

Kill Team: Exodite Pits Aeldari Against Beast Snagga Orks

Kill Team's next boxed set is a proper mismatch of styles. Exodite brings three Dragon Masters and two Drakolithes on the Aeldari side, facing off against ten Beast Snagga Boyz and five Squighog Boyz for the Orks. The set ships with a narrative Dossier book, 88 datacards, a transfer sheet, and tokens — preorders open July 25. It's a compact, thematic clash that should slot straight into existing Kill Team collections.

  • Beast Snagga Orks: 10 Beast Snagga Boyz, 5 Squighog Boyz

The Old World Gets a New Core Set

The Old World just made it easier to jump in. The new Core Set (RRP £150/€190/$240) released this week with 54 miniatures — 22 new Warriors of Chaos and 32 Grand Cathay — plus a revised hardcover rulebook. A companion Battle March book adds smaller-scale game modes with six narrative scenarios, aimed at getting new armies onto the table faster without the usual slow-grow.

  • Revised hardcover rulebook included
  • Companion "Battle March" book with six narrative scenarios

Two brand-new armies means two sets of trays worth sorting out: Warriors of Chaos foam trays and Grand Cathay foam trays.

On Our Radar

Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons – Ravenloft is heading to Ravensburger's cooperative series this summer, sending five new heroes into Barovia against Strahd von Zarovich, Carrionette, Baba Lysaga, and the Gulthias Tree. It's compatible with the existing Horrified D&D sets, so it could be a nice pickup for anyone already collecting that line. Nothing dedicated on our end yet, but our Dungeons & Dragons collection is a good place to start if you want to organize your Ravenloft crew now.

The Lord of the Rings: Ascension launched on Gamefound this week — three interconnected Ascension deckbuilding sets themed around the Fellowship, the Two Towers, and the Return of the King, plus a Deluxe Collection. Early days for this one; we'll keep watching to see how the campaign lands.
