Games Workshop's Autumn Preview stole the show this week, with new factions, a returning fan-favorite, and a fresh Warhammer Quest expansion — and we've got a few projects of our own to talk about, too.

New Duardin Faction: The Khazalite Holds

Age of Sigmar just got a brand-new army of stone-carving dwarfs. As part of this week's Big Autumn Preview, Games Workshop unveiled the Khazalite Holds — a completely new classic dwarf faction, led by Hjulda Drakkblud. It's the kind of reveal that resets a whole corner of the AoS hobby: new sculpts, a new Battletome, and a new army to start collecting from scratch. The existing Fyreslayers aren't going anywhere — they'll be folded into the new Battletome as a sub-faction.

Codex: Space Marines Pre-Orders Are Live

The new 11th-edition Space Marines codex went up for pre-order this week. Alongside the new book comes a wave of new and updated kits: a new character, Kaius Konorius, reworked Intercessors with new back banners, refreshed Outriders and Vanguard Veterans, and the return of a Captain on Bike. Several push-fit models from the Armageddon boxed set are also becoming available individually.

Blood Bowl Welcomes the Night Goblins

A new Blood Bowl team is hopping onto the pitch: the Night Goblins. The team's gimmick is pure chaos — cave squigs bouncing around on their own agenda. The roster includes six Night Goblin linemen alongside two each of four new positional players: Cave Squigs, Squig Herders, Squig Hoppers, and Squig Wranglers. Full rules will follow in Spike! Journal issue 23.

Warhammer Quest: Cursed City Gets Its First Expansion

The first expansion for Warhammer Quest: Cursed City has been revealed, and we're already planning something for it. "Agents of the Order of Azyr" adds four new heroes — witch hunter Safiya Ashcroft, sharpshooter Caul Durnan, warrior priest Brother Belias, and pyromancer Ignus Sharn — sent to face off against Gelgus Pus and his plague-ridden followers in the Jade Cloister. It's due up for pre-order soon, no firm date yet.

• New gear includes the "Shadowcurse Bolt" and the "Cloak of the Wanderer"

We Backed It: Space King – The Board Game

The team at Flashgitz (5.13 million YouTube subscribers) launched a Kickstarter for their 40K-parody board game, Space King, and we couldn't resist backing it. The campaign blew past its $50,000 goal in no time and has raised well over 50 times that amount, with pre-painted PVC miniatures ranging from 36mm to a towering 109mm. We went in on the Psycho Warrior pledge — no product to show you yet, but we'll keep you posted as the project develops.

Gothic Is Becoming a Board Game – And We're Excited

The cult PC classic Gothic is getting the board game treatment, courtesy of THQ Nordic's board game studio — the team behind Darksiders: The Forbidden Land. "Gothic: A Shadow's Quest" launches its Gamefound campaign on September 30th, priced at €80 for the base game. There's no telling yet what's inside the box, but we're already looking forward to it — and once it's out, we'll be building something for it.

StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game – Wave 2 Pre-Orders Are Open

Wave 2 of the StarCraft Tabletop Miniatures Game is now up for pre-order, and we've already got ours in. The new wave brings four new units — Zeratul, Ravager, Immortal, and Siege Tank — plus a new terrain pack and three faction starter sets. The Immortal comes on a 100mm base and the Siege Tank on a 150mm base, which means new size classes to plan storage around.

• New units: Zeratul (hero), Ravager, Immortal (100mm base), Siege Tank (150mm base)
• New "Lost Temple Ramp" terrain pack
• Three new faction starter sets (Protoss, Zerg, Terran), each a full 1,000-mineral army
