This 1200 mm x 600 mm x 50 mm raster foam insert (cube foam) is a customizable padding solution for filling crates, pallet containers, aluminum cases, backpacks, and many other types of containers. Thanks to its standardized dimensions and fine 15 mm x 15 mm grid, it can be easily adapted by hand to create individual recesses and compartments for securely embedding a wide variety of items.

The raster foam insert measures 1200 mm x 600 mm x 50 mm and is designed as a universal padding element for a broad range of containers. Its footprint corresponds to common formats used in crates and containers with the base size of a Euro pallet, so it fits many pallet containers and transport boxes without further cutting. This makes it particularly practical wherever standardized Euro-pallet dimensions are in use.

The interior of the foam is laid out as a 15 mm x 15 mm grid (raster). This fine subdivision creates small foam cubes that can be selectively removed by hand, allowing you to form recesses tailored to the shape and size of the contents you want to protect. Because of this small grid size, almost any outline can be approximated, from simple rectangular cut-outs to more complex contours.

The outer edges of the raster foam are produced with a borderless punching process. This means there is no fixed, solid frame around the grid area; instead, the raster extends right to the edge. As a result, you can very easily adjust the overall outer dimensions by tearing off or cutting away rows of cubes along the edge to match the inside size of your crate, case, or backpack. This helps achieve a snug fit in many different container formats.

Adaptation of the raster foam can be done completely by hand. You do not need any special tools: individual cubes or entire rows can simply be separated along the predefined 15 mm x 15 mm perforations. This makes the process quick and straightforward, whether you are fitting the insert to a new container or modifying existing compartments.

For optimal protection, the manufacturer recommends combining this raster foam insert with separate foam bottoms or foam lids placed underneath or on top of the insert. Alternatively, convoluted (egg-crate) foam in various heights can be used as additional padding. Such layers act either as a cushioned base beneath the raster foam or as a protective cover above it, helping hold the contents securely in place and providing extra shock absorption during storage and transport.
