Star Wars: Legion – More Minis per Tray
Oct 28, 2026
In Legion, no unit stays the same for long. A heavy weapon here, an extra trooper there, a new character for the next list. Magnetic trays keep up with that: no fixed slots, models standing close together, and a case you can arrange in three directions.

Units That Change, Trays That Don't Mind
Your list decides what goes in the case. The tray doesn't care.
Heavy weapon and personnel upgrades add or swap models in a unit, and a squad upgrade can more than double it. Next week, the list looks different again. On a steel tray, that's no problem: you just place the models where there's room. Small bases, notched heavy weapon bases, and the large bases of riders all share one surface.

Base to Base
More minis on the same space.
On a magnetic tray, the models stand right next to each other. A raised rifle, a cape, or a lightsaber can reach over the neighboring base – only the bases need room, not the poses. That's how a lot of models fit on one 266 x 145.5 mm tray, and the 2 trays that come with the case already carry a solid force.

Straight, Angled, or Upside Down
7 slots, three ways to use them.
- Straight: Pick the slots that match your models. Troopers need little headroom, riders and walkers like the AT-RT need more.
- Angled: The trays can sit at different slot heights on the left and right. The tray runs at a slant, tall models stand under the high side.
- Upside down: Flip a tray into the top slot and models hang from it. The space above the tall models on the lower tray holds a whole extra row.
For heavier models hanging upside down, use a strong magnet and give the case a gentle shake before you head out.

Magnetizing Legion Bases
The bases already have room for it.
The underside of a Legion base has a recess. A flat neodymium disc magnet fits inside, so the base doesn't get any taller – and since the tray itself is steel, you only need one magnet per model. Legion asks for official bases, or bases with exactly the same size and shape; with the magnet hidden underneath, nothing changes on the table.
At the Table
Pull the tray, set it next to the table, play.
The loaded tray works as your staging area for reserves and defeated units. Non-slip pads keep the case in place when you pull a tray out, and the lock switch with color indicator shows at a glance whether everything is secured before you pack up. With the MINI PLUS set, the inner zip pocket holds command cards, unit cards, tokens, and dice.
