This 1200 mm x 600 mm x 50 mm raster foam insert is a customizable “pick-and-pluck” foam solution for filling boxes, pallet containers, aluminum cases, backpacks, and many other types of containers. It is designed for universal use and is not tied to any specific game or system, making it suitable wherever flexible, form-fitting cushioning and organization are needed.

The raster foam insert is supplied as a large foam panel measuring approximately 1200 mm x 600 mm x 50 mm. This format is particularly practical because it corresponds to the footprint of many containers designed around Euro pallet dimensions. As a result, the insert can be laid into a wide variety of crates, pallet containers, and similar transport or storage solutions without complex cutting.

The interior of the panel is divided into a regular 15 mm x 15 mm grid of pre-cut foam cubes. This grid (raster) allows you to create custom recesses of almost any shape: you simply remove individual cubes or groups of cubes to form tailored compartments. Thanks to the fine 15 mm spacing, both larger and relatively detailed shapes can be realized, enabling form-fitting cavities for items of many different sizes.

Adjustment of the foam insert is done entirely by hand. The pre-cut cubes can be separated without knives or other tools, so the layout can be modified quickly and easily as your storage needs change. This makes the insert suitable both for initial setup and for later reconfiguration if you want to store different items.

The edges of the panel are produced using edge-free punching. This means the outer contour is not bound to a fixed frame, and the external dimensions can be individually adapted. You can trim the panel along the punch pattern to adjust length and width so it fits containers that are slightly smaller than the original 1200 mm x 600 mm size. In this way, the same raster foam can be used in a broad range of boxes, cases, and other enclosures.

For optimal protection, it is recommended to combine this raster foam with suitable foam bottoms and foam lids. A foam bottom placed under the raster insert provides extra padding from below, protecting items from impact from the floor of the container. On top, a matching foam lid—or alternatively convoluted (egg-crate) foam in various available heights—serves as a protective cover, gently pressing items into their cut-outs and preventing them from moving during transport.

Used together, the raster insert and optional top and bottom foam layers create a complete, cushioned interior for containers of many kinds. This modular approach allows you to configure storage and transport solutions that are precisely tailored to the dimensions and shapes of the items you need to protect, whether in industrial, hobby, or general-purpose contexts.
